Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing

Standard

A recent scam was revealed in Japan when a Japanese movie star commented on a talk show that she was concerned because her new poodle wasn’t barking, or eating dog food. When she showed a photo of her new fido, she was devistated to learn the animal wasn’t a poodle, it was infact a lamb. That’s right, up to 2000 Japanese new poodle owners are in fact new sheep owners. Besides being out 630 Yen, they are surely going to have to live with the humiliation of the ordeal for many years to come. I’m sure it will be especially tough during sunday dinner, when Rover is the main course.

the White Stripes are a Comin’ to Moncton

Standard

I’m still kicking myself for not going to see INXS, or OLP the last time they were in town. Maybe I’ll be smarter this time and actually GO to the White Stripes. I think they’d put on a good show. Although, if it comes down to us either going to see the White Stripes or Cirque de Soleil in St John, CdS may win. I know Rob would rather see CdS, and I’d be pretty interested in seeing that show too. We’ll have to RPS it.

Flowers + Pancakes = Best. Day. Ever.

Standard

This is shaping up to be a great day. Guess what I was doing at work, at 10 pm this evening, whilst I was taking calls. (well, in between calls really). Eating pancakes! I kid you not. One of the supervisors here is making pancakes and bringing them around to everyone.
I love Asurion.
I love Pancakes.
I love Bonnie.

I’m the Bigger Jerk

Standard

I got a horrible sleep last night, and was suitably cranky this morning. Rob copped a little attitude with me, and I certainly wasn’t going to take it. I told him he was being a big jerk, and I didn’t kiss him goodbye when he dropped me off at work. So, almost an hour later, I’m sitting here waiting for a call, and who comes around the corner to my desk but Rob, with not one but two vases of flowers. A dozen roses, all done up in a nice vase, and some purple orchids that had blue dye added to their water, so thir white parts turned blue. They’re so pretty. I’m still not sure if I’m going to cry or not…
I thank God every day for having Rob in my life. I love him so much.

A Blythe is Finally Joining the Family

Standard

I finally have decided to add a Blythe doll to my little collection. Blythe were, after all, the inspiration for Pullip, and a craze long before Pullip appeared. I discovered Pullip when I had made some Blythe clothes for a friend, and was searching for Blythe clothing patterns online. The vintage style of Blythe, and some new ones, scare me. I don’t like the ones with orange eyechips, or with really dark makeup. But, with a little research, I found a few different Blythes I liked. Included was Violet. Someone posted her for sale on a Blythe forum that I visit occasionally, so I snapped her up. She is now on her way to me. You can see a pic of her HERE.
So, my little dolly family now has 5 Pullips and 1 Blythe. I’m also going to add a Dal soon (made by the makers of Pullip, but smaller), and I’s also like to add a couple of Pullip and Blythe mini’s into the mix too. Rob’s probably having trouble breathing as he reads this, but don’t worry dear, I don’t mean all at once. It took me a year to buy a Blythe, and I’m still thinking about parting with a Pullip or 2, plus I still have a few pricey MLP’s to Ebay off, so fret not! Thank god the Dolls can’t overrun the house like the ponies did. ^_^

Bald Knob

Standard

I’m still suffering through the head cold that Rob gave me, so is Mom. Apparantly Rob tried to stir things up last night while I was at work. He convinced Mom it was ME who made him and her sick, I must have brought it home from work. PFFT! He was sick before either one of us!
Did you know there was a place called Bald Knob in Arkansas. Indeed.
That reminds me, Rob and I were watching some show this morning on tv, and like many of the shows we flip to, it left us feeling empty and dirty. It was about some trailer gators in the Ozarks. Oh my. *shudder*

Another Day, Another Dollar

Standard

I’m bored. I have the munchies. But there’s nothing I want in the vending machines here. I wish I would have brought one of the many bags of baby carrots Rob recently bought in a grocery shopping spree. I have 2 hours left of work, and I’m on my last break. I don’t like having my break so early. I’m in a complaning mood, can you tell?
I started my day out well enough. I went to centergy while Rob was still sound asleep. I also ran a few errands. Then when I got home, we went for a walk to run a few more errands. It was a gorgeous day out. I’m in denial about us getting dumped with a hung amount of snow again this weekend. I just can’t bring myself to believe it. Well, if we do get a load of snow, I hope dad’s back from NY by then. Having my driveway plowed is a luxury I can’t live without! We found that out last weekend. :)
I’ve been selling some stuff on eBay lately, and I have to admit I went on a little Etsy shopping spree. I bought a bunch of findings and supplies for jewelry making, as well as a few items for us. I got mom a book who’s cover was a photo of cheezies (she loved it), I got Rob a set of Nintendo coasters, and I got myself a really sweet pendant and hairpins. I’ll have to post pics sometime soon…

Happy Easter (Better Late Than Never)

Standard

This weekend we got hit with one of the biggest snowfalls of this year. Rob and I had a fun day driving in it. Trying to get out of our driveway was the funniest. Dad’s in the US right now for work, so of course, our driveway wasn’t plowed. We didn’t realize how much snow we had gotten, so we come out of the house to go to Gran & Gramp’s house for Easter dinner yesterday, and we tried to drive out of the driveway. Well, we did get out, but it did take a bit. hehehe
Heidi and Steve were up for the weekend. We hung out Saturday night. We did a little shopping at the mall (I got some sweet deals on soem clothes), then we went to our place and played some Trivial Pursuit. It was fun(ny). hehehe I wish we saw Heidi and Steve more. I love hanging out with them.
We’ve got the ball rolling on the new kitchen counter. Puppet is going to install it for us, since he used to do that prefessionally. We have also decided on the color/style we want, we just have to order it. I’m so excited about it. :) Once we get that, the kitchen should go fast. I still don’t know what I want to do about the kitchen cupboards though. Bleh OH, and when we were at the mall on Saturday, Sobey’s had a huge bin of flatware, in my hammered look pattern I’ve been looking for literally for 4 years. It was reasonbly priced too.

Mr Handyman

Standard

Rob’s been in a handyman mood the past week or so. He’s been replacing all the old outlets and light switches around the house that he hadn’t already replaced. You’d be surprised how much changing an old switchplate can snazz up a room. He also had been replacing the outlets, as some in the house were only 2 prong, and almost all were painted over ( lazy people). Just the past week, he’s put new light fixtures in our room, mom’s room, the hallway, and the back entryway, he’s replaced the ceiling fan in the living room, and he’s added new wiring to a part of the basement that only had one outlet, but now it has two! He’s also installed a switch in the bar so that now all we do is flick the switch on the wall instead of digging through all the junk under the bar to plug the lights into an outlet. Speaking of the bar, Rob, since you’re all about lighting this week, we should get some nice lights for it. Pot Lights? ^_^
We’ve really gotten bitten by the spring renovating bug. We bought new hardware for the kitchen cupboards, and I’ve got a fire lit under me about the kitchen since we went to dinner on Saturday and had a great idea about decorating the kitchen. But, before we can do too much in the kitchen, we need to get a new countertop. That’s the thing really holding me back in the kitchen at the moment. Until we get a new countertop in, we can’t install the backsplash tiles, or paint the walls around the counter. (Rob, let’s go get that countertop ordered eh?) Although, we could definately start the dining room, since that great idea I had was for in there. ^_^ I think the kitchen/dining area is going to look pretty snazzy once we’re done.
That reminds me, we’ve got to build/find a couple of shelves for Rob’s ever growing hot sauce collection in the dining room. They’d look so nice all lined up on shelves. He’s got some great sauces and some nice sets. I can just envision how they’d look all set up on display, with some of our dried cayenne peppers tucked in here and there. I think we should build the shelves, since we have yet to find one that would work great. I have a great vision of what they should look like in my head, I’ll have to draw it out and run it by Rob.

Leading An Uninteresting Life

Standard

Rob told me today that I should post more. He likes it when I post. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything to post about. So, here is a post about nothing. (and this is different from all my other posts…..how?)
I suppose, this weekend there’s an Easter thing at the zoo. I’m excited about it, as it will be my first face painting outing this year. I do miss face painting dearly.
Yep, now what? Let’s see….how about movies? I haven’t seen any movies lately, good or otherwise. Rob and I were going to go to a movie this weekend, but there wasn’t anything playing that we really wanted to see. He’s already seen 300, and nothing else really piqued our interest. We did go to Chapters though, and I always love a trip there. So many craft books. I could sit there for hours browsing through the books. Rob lasts about 40 mins – an hour, then he needs to leave. He gets bored. :P
Speaking of movies, McDonald’s currently has a new set of those Madame Alexander dolls, which normally wouldn’t mean jack to me, but this set of 8 are all from the Wizard of Oz! EEK! WoO is one of my favorite movies. I’ve seen it more than any other movie. So, I’ve gotten 6 of the set of 8. They’re so cute! The Wicked Witch of the West and the tinman are my faves. The whole set consists of: Dorothy, the WW of the West, the WW of the East, Glinda the Good Witch, the scarecrow, the tinman, the lion, and a munchkin. Ok, so the munchkin I can understand, but what is with the WW of the East? Why is she in the set and not the Wizard? They don’t have the friggin Wizard in there! And as for the WW of the East, we never actually see her in the movie, save for her stockened legs poking out from under Dorothy’s house. I must say though, her sister, the WW of the W got the short end of the ugly stick; the WW of the E is all blonde and cute, while, as you know, her sister is green.
